Viola Davis, Steve McQueen & the cast of Widows on changing roles for women on film

Widows premiered at the 2018 Toronto Film Festival in Canada. It is co-written and directed by Twelve Years a Slave Oscar Winning director Steve McQueen. Gone Girl and Sharp Objects writer Gillian Flynn co-wrote the script from the Lynda LaPlante original. PLOT: Set in contemporary Chicago, amidst a time of turmoil, four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands’ criminal activities, take fate into their own hands, and conspire to forge a future on their own terms. Widows is released on the 6th of November, 2018 in the UK and the 16th of November, 2018 in the US.
