After two weeks in the dust I can’t believe my first burn is finally over. This has been one of the most powerful and beautiful experiences of my life. I feel blessed, moved, and transformed after being a part of something that I gave everything to, and shared with such incredible people. I’ve come to discover that Burning Man isn’t just a party in the desert, it’s a group of people that have to come together to take care of themselves, and to take care of each other.
I built and tore down down a camp in the desert working harder than I’ve ever worked before, survived global news-making weather conditions, and despite - or maybe because of that - had the time of my life.
Coming away from Burning Man I feel grateful to have been finally tested in many ways that I have not been before. Facing real uncertainty, fear, anger, temptation, discomfort, fatigue, and pain - I found that I stood by my friends when they needed me the most. I’m grateful for my family, for my friends, for this life, and I’m proud of the man that I am.
