Hello world ✨ open me 💫 I’ve always loved the aesthetics of Studio Ghibli movies and how they depict nature with a whimsical flare. So when I saw the whimsical forest of Sumeru in this cozy little game that I’ve been enjoying (Genshin Impact), I immediately had the idea of painting it in the Ghibli style. It would be the perfect fit! This is actually my first ever venture into using gouache, and I can count the number of times that I have painted in any medium on one hand. Being a complete novice in painting and using gouache, I had no idea how much of a challenge this would be when I started. The entire painting took a week to finish. Despite the struggles, I pushed forward and learned a tremendous amount on this drawing journey, and ended up enjoying the process a lot. I’m definitely looking forward to learning more about painting in gouache and making more drawings in the future!
