Live inside Navalny’s penal colony as Moscow court considers new charges against him

Live inside the IK-2 penal colony in Pokrov where Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny is serving his sentence as a Moscow court considers new charges against him, on Tuesday, February 15. Moscow’s Lefortovsky district court announced last week it will hold preliminary hearings on charges of fraud and contempt of court against Navalny on February 15. Navalny is accused of stealing for personal purposes 365 million roubles million (around €, $) of donations that were given to his organisations. He also faces contempt of court charges for one of his hearings last year when he was jailed for more than two years. He is currently serving the sentence at the IK-2 penal colony in Pokrov, a town located around 100 kilometres east of Moscow.
