Taiwan’s president Tsai Ing-Wen vowed to not let Beijing intimidate Taipei & further bolster the island’s military. Tsai said that Taiwan would not “act rashly” but “there should be no illusions that Taiwanese people will bow to pressure”. Tsai’s statement comes amid repeated threats from China’s leaders that Beijing will one day take control of Taiwan.
