Sonny Boy (1929)

2 and 1/2 year old boy balances on a tripod and turns the handle of a 35mm cine camera. His father holds the tripod steady. Cute. The toddler is then thrown into his fathers arms from off screen. His dad then throws him high in the air back to the person we can’t see. (This is pretty frightening as they are throwing the kid quite some distance!) The man is the boxer Stribling. Sonny and his dad have a little boxing match. Good shots of them sparring. Great shot from a low angle of Sonny being held aloft by his dad. The kid just balances on his father’s hands. The boxer lifts and lowers the boy, turning him upside down then the right way up again. Silly stuff. Was item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 407. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
