He stood behind me, his hunting rifle pointed at the wolf. Richard looked him straight in the eyes, the wolf didn’t like it and began to growl more angrily. The spectator duel lasted several minutes, but they seemed like an eternity to me. At one point the wolf simply turned around and ran away into the dense forest. Richard asked if I was okay and then we walked home together. I was shocked and felt both joy and sadness at the same time. That night I slept like a baby, and in the morning I woke up cheerful, full of strength and energy. The blizzard had already ended, and after breakfast Richard and I went back into the forest to find my tent. Richard was an experienced forester, and after half an hour of searching we found the tent and my other things. The tent was under a thick layer of snow and had to be dug out with a shovel. Richard also said that I was lucky because yesterday a large piece of frozen snow fell from a tree onto the tent. He said Buddy and I were lucky we didn’t sleep in it last night. And then I remembered Buddy the dog, who took me away from the tent towards Richard’s house. After dinner, after thanking Richard and Emily for their hospitality, Buddy and I left for home.
