China’s 5,000 tons monster ship can catch U.S. Nuclear Submarines without any weapons?

China’s Type 927 hydroacoustic survey ship, equipped with advanced underwater sonar technology, has become a formidable tool for detecting and tracking nuclear submarines. With a catamaran design and a length of 90 meters, it operates stably even in harsh sea conditions. Its electric propulsion system ensures quiet sailing, minimizing self-generated noise. The ship’s stern carries a dedicated towed sonar device that can detect underwater vehicles over a large area. The Type 927 is equipped with a domestic long-receiving array “sea eye“ towed sonar, capable of detecting submarines up to a depth of 450 meters. The ship’s electronic equipment records real-time sonar detection, enabling immediate capture of any exposed nuclear submarine. American nuclear submarines have been reported to detour upon encountering the Type 927, showcasing its effectiveness as a deterrent.
