EASIEST way to make the ULTIMATE Gameboy Advance SP! FunnyPlaying IPS Screen and Retro Modding Shell

In today’s episode of Retro Renew, we’re going to install a FunnyPlaying IPS screen into a Japanese Imported Game Boy Advance SP AGS-001. As you may or may not know, the AGS-001 has a front lit LCD which leaves a lot to be desired. Nintendo later fixed this issue with the release of the AGS-101 model GBA SP. Despite this, sourcing an AGS-101 console or AGS-101 LCD are both expensive endeavors. The IPS kit from FunnyPlaying is a great alternative to the AGS-101. To help with the install, I’ll be using a pre-trimmed GBA SP shell from Retro Modding.
