The 911 call was placed by a security guard who reported that two men, driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck, where breaking into cars in an underground parking garage. Officers arrived and blocked the only exit of the parking garage with their patrol cars. The screeching tires of the F-150, later determined to be stolen, alerted officers to suspects.
