This silent film shows retirement ceremonies at the U.S. Naval Missile Facility in Point Arguello, Lompoc, California, on June 27, 1963. The officers being honorable discharges that day were Commander C.A. Wentz, Commander F.J. David, Commander M.J. Massa, and Commander J.H. McMillan. Film starts with a low angle shot of the American flag in a stiff breeze (:38) before moving onto an inspection and then the retirement ceremony itself, followed by a parade of sailors and an informal chat among the attendees. The American flag is shown again briefly at the end.
