If not, what is? (suggestions in the comments please). Sonja has always loved the song (celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2022!) and as we did with our live unplugged cover version of TYPE O NEGATIVE’s Black No.1 for last year’s World Goth Day, we thought we should do something again for 2022. Easy, right? Problem is, the date really jumped on us and before we knew it there was just a week until Goth Day! (22 May). So in that small timeframe the song had to be figured out, recorded and mixed, the video conceived, produced, shot and edited. An ambitious task that unfortunately just missed the planned Goth Day date - but, with many late nights to get the song and video done, we’d rather ensure the end result is something we’re happy with in stead of pleasing those who will hold us to our word, demanding we deliver! We also didn’t make any huge announcements, only a post stating that there’s a surprise coming on Goth Day… well a day or so after 😉 We tried to retain the spirit of the original, by no means claiming to outdo the legendary moody song, but we did feel compelled to give it a little Terminatryx flavour to wrap it up. Some of you may not know that Terminatryx isn’t our full time job, each band member occupied with their various endeavors - So everyone had to squeeze off time and put in their 100% to hit this crazy marathon of a deadline. Close enough! We hate breaking promises and letting people down, but we’re hardly unreliable bastards - in our 20 years we’ve never cancelled a show, ever! So there you have it. Hot on the heels of Goth Day, we give you our audio-visual rendition of the legendary BAUHAUS song BELA LUGOSI’S DEAD.
