The Prince’s New ’plane (1932)

Full title reads: “The Prince’s new plane - Capt. Broad - famous test pilot - tries out the Prince of Wales’ latest D. H. Puss (sic) Moth - and says ’OK’.“ The plane - a De Havilland Fox Moth - taxies on the airfield. It is having its final checks before being handed over to Prince Edward, the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor). Captain Broad stands next to the wing of the new biplane and describes its features. It has a Gypsy engine, it has improved wireless equipment, more comfortable seats, etc. (Some of his words are drowned out by the engine of another plane). C/U small plaque on the plane which reads: “. The Prince of Wales“. The plane has a range of 600 miles at 110 miles and hour and a top speed of 125 mph. Captain Broad climbs up into the cockpit of the plane and takes it up for its final test flight. Various shots of the plane as it flies around.
