Cargo ship ran aground

Cargo ship ran aground in Inebolu district of Kastamonu. Due to the storm in Inebolu district, the Cambodian flagged dry cargo ship named “Vamos“ drifted to the shore. AFAD, coast guard and fire brigade teams started to work to rescue the 11 crew members, including 2 Turks, on the stranded ship. The teams rescued 6 crew members with the help of a fire brigade ladder. A crew member who jumped into the sea with a rope was taken to hospital by medical teams. The rescue work was suspended when the fire brigade ladder was damaged due to the rocking of the ship due to the waves. It is learnt that a new fire truck is expected to arrive from Kastamonu. The newly arrived fire truck rescued the other crew members on board. The rescued crew members were placed in Inebolu Teacher’s House.
