Network news (Portland, Oregon) interviewed me when my short film about domestic violence premiered. This was in 2013. It was the beginning of me going public about my childhood abuse and my verbally abusive first marriage. I had intentionally hired actors and given them fictional names so I wouldn’t need to disclose, but news anchor Regie Acqui said it wouldn’t be shown unless I told that the film is about me.
