Taniwha ( Get in the water )

I was not planning anything when I started this short, just animate something with a cool music... But I really enjoyed create these characters and work with them, so maybe I’ll try to do more of it 😊 - I take inspiration from the New-Zealand/Maori water creature, the Taniwha. But it’s important to clarify that my goal was not to be representative of the original culture, I prefer create my own lore/story to not be too dependant of myths and disrespect them… ( but I invite you to be curious about the real stories and legends, I really enjoyed discover them ). - If the artstyle remind you Wakfu, it’s because I worked on the season 4 as 2D animator and I wanted to experiment/applied the things I learned there ( and because I absolutely love this artsyle ^^ ). ___ Graphic bible ( for more story/context ) : Animation rough : Morgan Clae’s cover : Epic: The Musical ( non-official ) : EN : There you go !
