Salmon chowder is a common dish in Finland and other Nordic countries. It consists of salmon fillets, boiled potatoes and carrots. The dish is served hot, and typically seasoned with fresh dill.
Recipe ingredients:
SALMON SOUP 4 servings
6-8 potato
2 carrot
1 onion
2 ltr water
300g boiled whole wheat
½ tsp allspice (whole) optional
1 bay leaf (optional)
750 g salmon fillet
2 dl cooking cream
1 tbsp salt
6 tbsp fresh dill
bay leaf 2pcs
instructions: Fish Soup in 30 Minutes
Wash, peel and chop the potatoes, carrots and onion. Boil the vegetables with spices and bay leaf in water until almost cooked.
Remove the skin and bones from the salmon fillet. Cut the fish into large cubes.
Add cream, salt and chopped salmon. Cook over low heat until the fish is tender, about 20-30 minutes. Add dill and serve traditional salmon soup with bread.
