Emil Ernebro - “Den Blomstertid Nu Kommer“

This song, “Den Blomstertid Nu Kommer“ (would translate to something like “The Flowering Time is Approaching“) is one of the most known Swedish hymns. When I was a kid, I remember that we sang this song in school just before we were going on the long summer break. It is still sung in almost every school or church just before the school break. The hymn has always aroused mixed feelings of sadness and joy for me. It marks that something familiar has just ended and that something unknown is about to begin. Both emotions unite in just the time it takes to sing the song. This is why I arranged it this way. The hymn is usually played or sung in a more “joyful“ way, and maybe more major chords than I used. But I tried to arrange it in a way that reflect how I feel when I hear this song. For me, the arrangement catches the “melancholy sound of Scandinavia“. I hope you like it :) If you’d like to learn from me, check out my TABs and video lessons here: http
