Metallica’s Kirk Hammett (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass)--as well as Ugly Kid Joe’s Whitfield Crane (vocals), Queens of the Stone Age’s Jon Theodore (drums), Death Angel’s Mark Osegueda (vocals), and Bad Wolves’ Doc Coyle (guitar)--perform as The Wedding Band and play a cover of the AC/DC song “Live Wire“ live in concert before a sold-out crowd at The Fillmore in San Francisco, California on December 17, 2021. Live Wire originally appeared on AC/DC’s second studio album, . (1975). This show at The Fillmore as the Wedding Band was part of Metallica’s “San Francisco Takeover” in December celebrating the band’s 40th anniversary. The all-star cover band played several 70’s and 80’s rock and funk songs, only wrapping up the show after 3am. The supergroup was formed in 2019 as a Metallica side project; they got their name from the fact that their first gig was a friend’s wedding in Hawaii.
