To date, there are two different versions of the film available There is the theatrical version, running in at about two and a quarter hours, and the extended edition, which clocks in just under three hours. An extended editing of Dune seems perfect, but the EE slipped up. The editing was awful. At times they would zoom in on different effect shots to make it seem like a new shot (when the EE was made available in widescreen, this wasn’t fixed!) the Fremen’s eyes were not blue and rather than Virginia Madsen’s velvet voice guiding us through the movie, we got a cheap painted prologue and an unkown male narrator (rumours fly that it was Frank Herbert himself, but no evidence ever surfaced) This re-cut fixes all that (well, most of it) In Dune: The Novel Cut, V
