Spooked By Wagner Near Borders, NATO Nation Poland Looks To Double Military Size | Details
Poland is set to bolster its military in response to the deployment of Wagner troops in neighbouring Belarus. The country’s Defence Minister, Mariusz Blaszczak announced plans to double the size of the Polish Army from three to six divisions. Active service members will increase from 172,000 to 300,000, and defence spending is expected to rise to 4% of GDP. The move comes as a countermeasure against potential security threats posed by the Wagner PMC.
