Hair Styles From Miss America (1929)

Introductory intertitle reads: “With the tendency to lengthen skirts (though these ladies don’t seem to have lengthened much!) hair modes are changing - “ L/S of several models posing on a set of stairs and walking towards the camera. The girls move around to show their hairstyles. C/U of one of the styles - elaborately waved hair. The model turns to show her style, on one side of the head is a long curled plait. So although the hair looks short on one side, it is actually quite long. L/S of the girls on the stairs again. They walk forward one by one and as they do so, the others move up the stairs. “Miss America is going in for very much modified shingles and bobs, with a distinct tendency to “hanging“ styles - “ Camera pans across three styles. C/U of another style being modelled. M/S of a group of women all turning to shot the back of their hairdos. They turn to face front. Was originally an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 443.
