Dying K9 Officer With Liver Cancer Gets Final Salute By Police Department

Middletown Police Officer Michael D’Arestra was emotional as he cradled his K9, Hunter, while walking him to the veterinarian before being put to sleep. The German Shepherd got a farewell hit for a hero as officers lined the street to salute him for his 10 years of service to the police department. Hunter was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of liver cancer and doctors recommended that he be euthanized.
