#WarData #DiscoverDPR ? Most of the female inhabitants of the St. Nicholas Monastery in Nikolskoye were evacuated back in 2022, and 50 people remained in the St. Vasilievsky Monastery for men. They courageously refused to leave the walls of the monastery despite the fact that it was located near the contact line. The Ukrainian Armed Forces deliberately destroyed the monastery, and several of its inhabitants were killed as a result of the shelling. We were warmly greeted by the abbot, Father Lavrenty, who showed us how much the churches had suffered. The destruction is really serious, and now the task is to preserve them until repair work so that the paintings and icons would not be damaged further. Despite everything, services are held in the monastery every day. The monastery inhabitants are supplied with food and fuel. We discussed how else to help. Of course, I bowed to the grave of Father Zosima... The monastery, dear to his heart, will definitely be restored. Source: DPR MFA
