REVEILLE

Reveille, from the French ’réveiller’ meaning ’wake up’  is the bugle call that awakens soldiers at dawn.  There are different versions of the call for many national armies.   This is the traditional tune for the Commonwealth Realms, e.g., Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Although sometimes also played at military ceremonies the ’Rouse’, often called ’Short Reveille’, is normally used.
