Panasonic Lumix S1 Firmware 2.0 - 10 bit internal vlog autofocus test.

Beware user-error. This is a test to see how improved the vlog autofocus is in continuous autofocus, with today’s firmware 2.0 update. Everything shot with the 24-105 S lens. I used mostly single point autofocus, but also tracking sometimes. Single point remains the best way to autofocus with this camera. I think. The result ’s not suddenly become great. But has got a bit better. A moving human in vlog hits focus but loses focus too. The hunt is still on. Esp when you zoom into background 400%. It’s always looking. Apparently the S1 now has the S5 autofocus algorhythms. I’ll try non vlog later. Main takeaway, is it remain unreliable. But so do I, so it’s hard to know who to blame. The resolves with wonderful clarity in 10bit internal, which is great for cropping (i edited on a 4k 25p PAL friendly timeline). The main advantage to me is how much easier it is to edit the footage in H264, than the previous 6K photo mode which is H2
