Japanese Rockabilly (Eagle A 3037, c. 1958)

The artist, Misora Hibari (1937-1989) was a well-loved singer who made many recordings and appeared in many films. She was honoured for uplifting the nation’s dignity and self-respect after its military defeat in WWII. The song has to do with the Japanese martial art of kendo, which involves stylized swordplay with bamboo swords. Collector info:
