I was shocked to learn that the lotteries are organised by the governments and that the profits are used to fill in the gaps in the budgets. I was also surprised to learn that the lottery had been invented centuries ago and, as I’m currently reading ‘1984’ by George Orwell, I see an interesting parallel to the “entertainment” that the “proles” were distracted with in the book. Having also just finished watching the tv series ‘Silo’, I find myself in a, perhaps, slightly dystopian sense on reality. This led me to ponder on the fact that all my life deep down I felt somewhat not good enough for I didn’t come from the “upper crust”. However, if you look closely at the history of the wealth acquirement of the “top 1%“, you will see that more often than not, the immense wealth is somehow related to... corruption, tax avoidance and unfair labour conditions. Now that I started educating myself on the history lessons, I’m gaining a better understanding of the current state of the world and thus I want to say, it isn’t money or the education one was able to obtain that defines one’s class, but the moral code, the deeds and who you are as a person.
