Explosion rips through lithium battery factory in South Korea

At least 22 people were killed when a powerful explosion and fire tore through a lithium battery factory in South Korea on Monday, local officials said. Over 100 people were working in the factory in Hwaseong city, south of the capital Seoul, when the fire broke out, firefighter Kim Jin-young said. Kim Jae-ho, Fire and Disaster Prevention professor at Daejeon University, said the fire had probably spread too quickly for workers to escape. #korea #fire #explosion
