Mark Howard, the founder and artistic director of Chicago’s own Trinity II Dance Company, has trained an ensemble that combines lack of pretension with technical confidence and precision. One of Mr. Howard’s brightest ideas was to bring in Sean Curran as guest choreographer. Although Mr. Curran is a modern dancer, he was originally trained in Irish dancing, and he knows how to blend forms. His “Jump, Jive and Jig“ borrowed steps from swing and jitterbug dancing. The performers’ feet continue moving crisply.
