The Hero Airman (1916)

Titles read: ’The Hero Airman. Lieutenant WL Robinson, VC, receives presentation gift from children of the Cottage Homes at Romford.’ Essex - 1916. Opens with shot of car driving down road toward camera between lines of cheering children; girls on left & boys on right. CU Hero talking to another man; with other people right behind. Another similar shot. Then; Robinson standing with lady and elderly man; on small platform with chairs; little table and wall completely covered with ivy in BG; young boy steps up (back to camera), salutes and hands a small gift to Robinson; then walks off. Robinson behind the small cloth covered table; making short speech; the other people with him down front clap; the hero sits. Shot panning on whole lot of small boys in rows; all dressed in same little uniforms with big white collars; 2 teachers with them - the kids are clapping with enthusiasm and being cute.
