This brief promotional film for War Bonds dates to 1943, and is targeted at African Americans. It was likely only shown in movie theaters in the Baltimore, Maryland vicinity. It includes a plea for Blacks to donate blood at the Provident Hospital, one of the first black medical facilities located in Baltimore.. The film is notable in that it contains some rare images of the Black-founded All American Newspapers publishing company (2:27) which published The Afro American newspaper in Baltimore as well as other cities. At 2:59 the copy desk at the Baltimore Afro American is shown as well as the typesetting with a linotype machine (3:19) and printing facilities (3:29). At (3:35) a giant roll of paper is moved into position for printing. At (4:19), movie theater goers are reminded to buy war stamps and war bonds. The film ends with a campaign promo and a text pleading for national unity. The promo is for Baltimore City Councilman Daniel Ellison, who was running for Congress in 1943 as a Republican. Ellison won the election and served until 1945, when he lost to George Hyde Fallon. He is notable as one of the only Republicans to ever sit on the Baltimore City Council.
