Slow Life in a Cozy Country House | The Prickliest Day | Pickled Cabbage. Sewing a Work Apron
Dear friends, let’s dive into the pleasant rural life, collect the fruits given to us by nature and make supplies for the winter.
Today was the most prickly day😂😂, as we collected rose hips to make a vitamin supply for the winter❄.
Also below I will share a recipe for delicious pickled cabbage, which, I think, everyone will like. In any case, in our family this is a favorite recipe and I cook it every year, so I will gladly share the recipe with you.
I got this recipe from an older woman when I was 19, which means I’ve been using it for over 20 years.
🥦“Pickled Cabbage“
Marinade:
1 liter of water,
2 tablespoons of salt,
0.5 cups of sugar (the volume of a glass is 200 ml)
100 ml of vegetable oil,
200 ml of 9% vinegar
allspice peas,
bay leaf.
Cabbage - about 2 kg.
Carrots - 2 pcs. medium-sized
4-5 cloves of garlic,
Chop the cabbage, grate the carrots into strips. Cut the garlic into slices.
Mix all the vegetables, put them in a suitable container, you can use a glass jar.
Preparing the brine:
Put the water on the fire, dissolve the salt, sugar, add the bay leaf, allspice peas.
As soon as the water boils, add the vinegar and vegetable oil. Turn off the heat and pour the hot brine over the cabbage. The brine should cover all the cabbage. When the cabbage has cooled, put it in the refrigerator. You can eat it the next day.
