SUNDAYS AT THE CHATEAU: THE LITTLE SISTINE CHAPEL OF THE BERRY!

This Sunday I’m delighted to reveal a local jewel to you - the Church of Saint Martin in the village of Vic. It contains one of the most important set of romanesque frescoes in France, which are nearly 900 years old! They are a masterpiece of 12th century art, and I feel unbelievably lucky to live so near to such artistic treasures. The frescoes and the church urgently require restauration. Both the French government and the local authorities have donated money, but there remains a shortfall of €40,000 to save these treasures.
