Atlantic City is a coastal resort city in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States, known for its casinos, boardwalk, and beaches. Beginning as a popular “health resort” in the 1870’s, railroad companies and land speculators constructed grand hotels along a seven mile long boardwalk that drew thousands of visitors each year.
