Joe Biden is part of his family’s ‘cash-for-influence’ scheme

New York Post columnist Miranda Devine says the Hunter Biden story shows Joe Biden has, in a nutshell, been involved in his family’s “cash-for-influence” scheme. The Biden campaign has denied the former vice president ever used his position in government to help his son’s overseas business deals. That is despite reporting by the Washington Post publishing emails, allegedly sourced by a computer hard drive, which shows Hunter tried to tee up meetings between members of a Ukrainian energy company while he on its board.   A document obtained from the hard drive showed an email from Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma Holdings, which expressed thanks to Hunter Biden for arranging a meeting with his father, who was then the vice president. “Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an (sic) opportunity to meet your father and spent (sic) some time together. It’s realty (sic) an honor and pleasure,” the email said. The meeting, in April 2015 in Washington, DC, according to the email, took place less than a year before Mr Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine to fire a prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, who was investigating the company. Mr Biden has refused to answer questions from reporters, labelling the NY Post article “a smear.“ After the NY Post published the story, Twitter and Facebook censored its publication on its platforms while it commissioned an independent third party to ’fact checked’ the article. “(President Trump) is running against Facebook, Twitter and all the big tech giants, he’s running against most of the mainstream media,” Ms Devine told Sky News host Alan Jones. “The Hunter Biden story, in a nutshell, shows that Joe Biden has been involved in his family’s cash-for-influence scheme that they’ve been running. “Joe Biden’s always said ‘oh no I’ve got nothing to do with my son’s overseas business dealings’, well we have the emails that prove that wrong. “Bizarrely, Joe Biden hasn’t even tried to defend himself.”
