New ‘fabric’ by NTU Singapore scientists turns body movement into electricity
Power suit: You may be able to power your electronic devices on the go with the clothes you wear one day, thanks to the stretchable and waterproof ‘fabric’ developed by #NTUsg scientists that can capture and turn energy from body movements into electricity. In experiments, washing, folding, and crumpling the fabric did not cause any performance degradation. It can maintain stable electrical output for up to five months, showing its potential for use as a #smarttextile and wearable power source.
