Russian Missile Strike Wipes Out One Of Ukraine’s Last S-300 Systems (Video) The Russian military has successfully destroyed one of Ukraine’s last Soviet-made S-300PS long-range air defense systems. In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the air defense system was targeted with an Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile close to the settlement of Progress in the region of Chernighov in northeastern Ukraine. The Iskander-M is said to have a range of nearly 500 kilometers. The highly-maneuverable missile can be armed with different conventional warheads, although the footage released by the Russian MoD indicates that a version armed with a cluster warhead was used in the strike on the S-300PS near Progress. The missile is guided by a GLONASS-aided inertial navigation system. It can be also equipped with an optical seeker with a digitized scene-mapping area correlator system for terminal guidance.
