The top 50 players, who include world nos 1-3 Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamaura and Fabiano Caruana, are seeded directly into Round 2. Each match consists of two classical games where the players have 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment from move 1.
