This is the RAREST Vz. 58 Rifle: The Vz. 58 Sport

In this episode of TFBTV, @JamesReeves interviews Mr. Stanislav Strizic, an engineer for CZ and a member of the design and testing team for the original CZ-75. Mr. Strizic designed a competition version of the Vz. 58 which was never commercially released, thus, only two prototypes exist. The Vz. 58, or Vzor 58, is a rifle that was developed in the late 1950s in Czechoslovakia. Despite its visual similarity to the Soviet AK-47, it features a unique design and operation mechanism. The Vz. 58 uses a short-stroke gas piston system, differing from the AK-47’s long-stroke gas system, and has a distinct locking system where the bolt locks into the receiver. It fires the ×39mm cartridge. Notable for its relatively lightweight construction, achieved through the use of aluminum alloy in various parts, the Vz. 58 was adopted by the Czechoslovak military in 1958. ««« TFB CHAT ROOM »»» Want to join the TFBTV chat room?
