Identifying a bleed and splinting a leg

join the discord community! One thing I often preach in terms of trauma management and assessment is to think before throwing a TQ on every bleeding extremity you see. In the video, you will see me acknowledge a decent amount of blood ( my salty medics are rolling their eyes right now). At this time an Iraqi medic offers up a TQ to which I decline. The wound obviously isn’t a traumatic bleed, however someone without alot of experience may see that amount of blood and hastily throw a TQ on the extremity. Take that extra second and give a good assessment. If you haven’t seen a traumatic bleed before trust me, you will recognize it when/if you do experience one. They aren’t subtle!
