Transformation of the Quansheng UV-K5 VHF/UHF transceiver into a VHF/UHF desktop transceiver gives us a lot of ideas and possibilities for what we can add to this transceiver in the future thanks to more housing space. I had to rebuild some parts like the keyboard or the audio/data module several times. Whole process took me one month including video recording and post production.
Since this radio was originally only button tuned, we had to make an ESP32 based Encoder Controller, and thanks to Paul OM0WT code creator, Encoder tuning became a reality.
I am preparing another video where I will modify the Mainboard of this radio with the SI4732 chip Modification Board ver. 2.5. This was also the reason why I already pre-installed the HF Low Pass Filter and FM Band-cut Filter in to my Quansheng desktop transceiver.
I tried to use the original parts from the original Quansheng as much as possible.
IJV Custom Firmware installed
