Pence comes to aid of collapsed Coast Guard member

(6 Feb 2019) Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Portsmouth, VA. to visit the US Coast Guard Base Portsmouth on Wednesday, during his formal remarks he assisted a Coast Guard member who fell on stage. Pence paused during his speech and walked across the stage to help the Coast Guardsman to her feet as other coastguard members also assisted. The Vice President was at US Coast Guard Base Portsmouth to receive a briefing from DHS Joint Task Force-East, Joint Task Force-West and Joint Task Force-Investigations. The briefings focused on DHS Joint Task Force efforts to address border security threats, vulnerabilities and risks related to transnational criminal organizations. The Vice President toured the US Coast Guard Cutter BEAR, and delivered his remarks to the crew and Joint Task Force members before heading back to Washington, DC.
