Originally from Japan, they are also popular in S. Korea, where they are also called Huwatu cards. (The deck I use is from S. Korea.) There are 12 sets, one for each month, and each having a particular flower or plant as the focal theme. In addition to the flower/plant, each set has an animal or item(s). The second card of each set has a ribbon. One can only read the cards for oneself. If another person touches the cards while you are reading, it is nullified, and you must reshuffle and start again.
