Originally from Japan, they are also popular in S. Korea, where they are also called Huwatu cards. (The deck I use is from S. Korea.) There are 12 sets, one for each month, and each having a particular flower or plant as the focal theme. In addition to the flower/plant, each set has an animal or item(s). The second card of each set has a ribbon. One can only read the cards for oneself. If another person touches the cards while you are reading, it is nullified, and you must reshuffle and start again. The cards divine yoru near future, unless an otherwise specific question is asked while shuffling.
