Spirit’s 24th birthday!

Return to Freedom celebrated the 24th birthday of Kiger mustang ambassador Spirit on May 8, 2019. The artists’ muse and model for the 2002 DreamWorks Animation film “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron,“ Spirit was inducted into the Horse Stars Hall of Fame by the EQUUS Foundation in 2018. Spirit continues to draw fans from around the world to RTF’s American Wild Horse Sanctuary in Lompoc, Calif. For more information on visiting, see
