The DigiTech XMM Metal Master Heavy Metal Distorion pedal is reviewed/demoed in this video. As the name suggests, it is a distortion pedal for the ultra heavy metal range of music. Controls are simple on this one. Level controls your volume, low and hi knobs either boost or cut their respective frequencies, and there is a “Morph” knob. The morph knob transitions from a relatively even high gain tone in the minimum position to the classic scoop sound at noon and then all the way to a huge sounding punch in the face when at the maximum.
The pedal has one input and two outputs. The top output features amp modeling for direct input to a mixer or recording device. The intro used this jack and it’s a pretty cool feature. You can record music that would give small children nightmares without waking up the neighborhood. The rest of the samples use the bottom output which is a standard output to your amp.
Overall, I’d say this is a very good mid-price range distortion pedal ($90 street, ~$60 Used). The added sus
