Honda Cooling System Service/Fluid Change

In this video, I show you how I service the cooling system on a Honda. In this case I am doing a drain and fill on an Accord. This procedure should be similar for 2008-2012 model Accords and many other Honda models. The exact vehicle in the video is a 2012 Honda Accord Special Edition. Some Honda models have a bolt to drain coolant from engine block, but many models do not, and the bolts usually require sealant or a new gasket if loosened/removed. The models with engine block drain bolts typically will drain about 1/3 gallon more coolant. There will still be be old coolant in the system no matter which setup the model has. I will typically do two drain and fills on the coolant system if I am concerned about getting all old coolant out (with a complete warm up and cool down period in between). Loosening coolant drain block bolts on older vehicles that have never had them removed can sometimes lead to issues like leaks or stripped out bolts, so be mindful of that. Honda cool
