Pan, the five thousand metres race in progress with the Russian No 1 leading, Derek Ibbotson and Gordon Pirie running, Russian runner Peter Bolotnikov and another Russian running last. SV. Judges with watches. SV. Towards and passed, Bolotnikov leading, followed by Ibbotson and Pirie, only about a yard between each of the runners. GV. Massed crowds. GV. Into the back straight. Ibbotson storms passed the Russians followed by Pirie. GV. Crowds. GV. Coming round the last bend with Ibbotson and Pirie out in front of the Russians. Pirie comes up on outside of Ibbotson to take the lead into the straight while Ibbotson keeps a careful eye on the Russians. Pirie going forward alone. LV.
