Celebrating Eleanor Roosevelt and the Universal Declaration on Human Rights

This 8min. documentary commemorates Eleanor Roosevelt’s (ER) legacy as the driving force behind the adoption of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR), as well as her life and the plaque in her honour on United Nations Plaza in Geneva Switzerland. This plaque, inaugurated by Micheline Calmy-Rey in December 2008 was initiated by the Task Force Celebrating Eleanor Roosevelt. It reminds us of our individual responsibility, per ER “Where after all, do universal rights begin ? in small places, close to home.
