Texas police face anger for delay in tackling school gunman - BBC News

Police in Texas are facing criticism after it emerged that it took up to an hour for them to tackle a gunman who entered an elementary school and shot dead 19 children and two teachers. Witnesses said police gathered outside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde when the shooting began but delayed entering the building. The gunman, who’s been named as 18-year-old Salvator Ramos, was eventually shot dead by police officers inside a classroom. Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Sarah Smith in Uvalde.
